Neil Durning and his company undertook two construction projects on our property recently, a loft conversion and single story side and rear extension. Both projects were completed on time and satisfactorily. We were delighted with the finished projects and would unreservedly recommend Neil and his company’s work. All Neil’s team and all subcontractors were professional and extremely experienced, able to offer not only the services required, but advice and recommendations contributing to a smooth delivery, overcoming any challenges that could occur and resulting in an improved outcome.

Neil et al were able to work efficiently with our architects and guided us through the planning process, ensuring compliance and legality throughout alongside the highest safety standards. Of course, the team were clean in their work and punctual, but also friendly and happy to take our situation and requests into account whenever necessary. Neil and the team made every effort to ensure our comfort during the work and were always available to answer any queries that we had.

Put simply they were extremely accommodating and no request was deemed unworthy of discussion.Their vast knowledge and experience helped us through many decision making processes and was essential to assist in acquisitions necessary to the project. Their local knowledge was invaluable in obtaining the very best work at the best prices. Equally the team were easily able to work alongside other service providers and installers and were happy to coordinate and oversee the project on our behalf where necessary. We were grateful to Neil and his company and are very happy living in the wonderful spaces that they have created for us. Five stars.

This is also the second time we have used Neil and his team to complete major building work on our family home. We cannot rate Neil more highly and would highly recommending him to anyone considering having building work done. We have found Neil over the past 15 years to be a very knowledgeable, experienced and organised builder.

Throughout the entire process of our recent build in 2021, from our initial meeting with Neil to his regular building updates, to his ongoing liaison with a vast team of structural engineers, designers, building materials, window and kitchen suppliers, Neil is an excellent communicator which provided us with much reassurance.

Neil’s team did an amazing job building our kitchen extension in the height of winter throughout challenging Covid times in early 2021. Not only did the project run to both time and budget, but the quality of building work is excellent. Having built a brilliant temporary wall throughout the construction period, Neil’s team also kept our house, the yard and the building site itself neat, tidy and safe at all times. Since completing the building work, Neil and his team have also offered excellent ongoing advice and support.

We hope to have Neil back a third time at some point in the next few years for our final building project, before he retires!

Even though my house was being turned upside down Neil, and his crew, were never other than a delight to have working on my house. The workmanship was good, they delivered on time and to budget and were unfailingly cheerful even in the depths of a cold winter. The loft became the best room of our house; it was light, spacious and versatile. The work was professionally managed and finished to an excellent standard with great care.

Neil Durning Construction converted two lofts for us over the past 12 years. The first one was a Victorian terrace in Romsey. Neil was recommended to us by a friend, and we immediately recommended him to a neighbour: it made a light and airy room with good storage, which when we came to sell the house we felt was a real asset. The second – our current ’30s semi in Queen Edith’s, in 2010 – was on a bigger scale and included a dormer and a shower room, once again, one of the nicest rooms in the house. On both occasions we employed Neil we found him to be very reliable, conscientious, helpful and honest. We would certainly employ and recommend him again.

Deciding on who to build our new extension was nerve racking. So when a friend recommended Neil Durning Construction we were some what relieved. From initial consultation to completion it was an excellent experience. The extension started on time, kept on budget, completed on time and we were really pleased with the quality of workmanship.
